Portland Drum Co. began in 2005 when I made the decision to have creative control over the design and construction of my own instrument. After 35 years as a professional drummer, it just wasn't enough to buy a kit off the shelf, I wanted to know how to build an instrument that could provide all the qualities I needed: Rich, warm tone, good projection, ease of tuning, visual appeal, and functionality.
